Xiaomi Has Unveiled Its New 12 Series Phones – And They Come With Massive Cameras

Xiaomi’s 12 series is official, with three models – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X – following months of leaks and rumors.

With its 6.28-inch screen, the vanilla model is more compact while still packing the greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU. The 12 Pro is larger at 6.73 inches and has the same SoC, but it also has an LTPO AMOLED display, a larger battery, faster charging, and better camera hardware.

The Xiaomi 12X is a more budget-friendly version of the Xiaomi 12, with the Snapdragon 870 SoC and similar dimensions and specifications.

Xiaomi has done it again, packing yet another massive camera onto a premium phone. It’s the Xiaomi 12 Pro this time, which has a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an f/1.9 standard wide lens. Although it isn’t the largest sensor Xiaomi has ever used in a phone, the combination of a wide aperture lens and a large image chip makes it.

Two more 50-megapixel rear camera sensors are included in the 12 Pro: an ultrawide and a telephoto. The Xiaomi 12 has a 1/1.56-inch type sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 5-megapixel “telemacro” sensor. The 12 and 12 Pro contain camera software advancements such as reduced shutter lag, improved burst shooting, and subject tracking for human and animal faces, in addition to excellent hardware.

The 12 Pro and its 12 sibling offer all the bells and whistles of a current flagship, including Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets and 120Hz OLED displays. The Xiaomi 12 has a 6.28-inch display and a 4,500mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73-inch display with 1,500 units of peak brightness and a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 series will be replaced by the new flagship phones for 2022, which will be among the first to use Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 line of flagship processors.
