This New Electric Boat Can Travel At Ridiculously High Speeds

German boat builder Performance Marine Yachting has recently unveiled an impressive high-speed electric day cruiser at the Austrian Boat Show in Tulln. The e801 is a sporty day cruiser that can reach speeds of over 50 knots, thanks to its powerful Evoy Hurricane liquid-cooled inboard electric motor.

The e801 is the result of a partnership between Performance Marine Yachting and Norway’s Evoy that started in 2021. Evoy, the company behind the most powerful electric outboard motor in the world, has outfitted the e801 with a 300+ kW inboard electric motor that can provide the equivalent of more than 400 horses of usable output for brief bursts at high speeds.

“Performance first started building boats as far back as 1985, and the e801 fitted with our 400-hp inboard electric motor follows a long line of beautifully made craft from this prestigious, custom-boat manufacturer,” said Lief Stavøstrand, Evoy’s CEO. “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the future of this iconic and noteworthy brand.”

The e801 is an impressive feat of engineering, combining speed and sustainability in a sleek and stylish package. Its electric motor provides a quiet and smooth ride, with zero emissions, making it an ideal choice for environmentally conscious boaters.

The boat’s design is also noteworthy, with a modern and sporty look that features a spacious cockpit, comfortable seating, and advanced technology. The e801 is equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation system, advanced audio system, and other high-tech features that make it a pleasure to operate.

Overall, the e801 is an impressive achievement that demonstrates the potential of electric power in the marine industry. It represents a new era of sustainable boating, where speed and luxury can be achieved without sacrificing the environment. Performance Marine Yachting and Evoy have set a high bar for the future of electric boats, and it will be exciting to see what other innovations they have in store for the industry.
