Prepare to do a double-take!
An 18-year-old Japanese artist by the name of Keito has recently gone viral on social media for his hyper-realistic drawings of everyday objects and has left many people astonished. Don’t believe us? Have a look at them yourself.
The young artist follows an old painting technique called Trompe l’oeil (which translates to ‘cheat the eye’ in French) which literally means to deceive the viewer and its safe to say that Keito has mastered this technique, making people doubt themselves if they’re seeing a drawing or an actual object. From a glass of cold coffee to a shiny gemstone, Keito’s drawings stand out from the paper (literally!) and you’d probably think it’s a real object at first glance. Not only is Keito an expert at shading but he can even recreate the textures of different objects to create the perfect illusion. Talk about a master of disguise!
Keito has an Instagram and Twitter account with the username Yassun0222K where he posts his masterpieces and shares them with the world. Sometimes he even posts videos of the drawings and the real objects together and honestly, we can’t tell them apart! Keito started his Instagram page in 2018 which means he was only 15 when he started! (talk about talent) He has about 50,000 followers on Twitter and 4,000 on Instagram which to be honest, don’t really do justice to the talented artist. So, if you’ve come this far, don’t forget to give him a follow and appreciate his drawings!
Among his drawings of everyday objects, Keito has also drawn sketches of famous characters like Harry Potter and Spiderman which are equally impressive. We can’t wait to see more of his creations!
