Xiaomi Unveils Go-Pro Rival Named YiCamera And It Costs Only $63.50

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, has taken the veils off its latest gadget; YiCamera. YiCamera is a GoPro like sports video camera which is now on sale in China only at a price of $63.50. The camera has been created by Xiaoyi and is being sold under the name of Xiaomi.

The company has been making deals with a number of companies such as Xiaoyi to make a number of devices available under its brand name. This way, Xiaomi is marking its roots as a device maker while also being an e-commerce company.

The camera can capture 16 MP pictures and can also record videos at 60fps 1080p H.264-encoded video while using Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor. The aperture lens is f/2.8 and offers a 155-degree panoramic view. Users can shoot in slow motion or try adjustable time lapse photography. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are incorporated while a companion app allows user to edit and share videos on smartphone. The camera can support memory card up to 64 GB and weighs in at 72 grams while sporting a 1100 mAh battery.

YiCamera, however, doesn’t come with its own protective case, instead it is ready to be mounted to accessories right away. What do you think? Does this mean Go-Pro won’t be a success in China? Let us know in the comments section below.
