These Guys Check Out What’s Inside A Tesla Motor

Let’s be honest, did you ever want to break apart a Tesla and see what made it tick? If you have, then you are in luck because of the famous YouTube channel, What’s Inside, did exactly that for you! What’s Inside decided to take a thorough look into the Tesla motor to show its audience about what is going on under the hood.

During the video, one of the presenters says just before the engine (read motor) is taken apart, ‘there’s not a lot of stuff on the internet about this.’ As you would have expected, this gave What’s Inside more of a reason to break it apart and take a look. The Tesla that is being taken apart is the 2012 Tesla Model S, and its motor has a blue coolant, transmission fluid, a large computer processor, PCB boards, and big gears.

A lot of commenters were quick and accurate to point out that the video’s title ‘What’s Inside a Tesla Engine’ is actually wrong because of the fact that Tesla vehicles do not feature an internal combustion engine. Instead of an engine, Tesla vehicles, along with other completely electric vehicles, come with a motor that is powered using the battery pack housed within the car.

Internal combustion gasoline engines are more prone to wear and tear. On the other hand, the electric motor features lesser moving parts and is much more advanced in terms of technology that it features. What you will witness in this video is more or less the same that is featured in a number of everyday objects such as smartphones, but in a simpler form. The video provides the audience with an interesting insight into the inner workings of electrical motors.

This model featured in the video is a 2012 Tesla model. However, its motor has been upgraded ever since then. Tesla’s electric motor technology has become so advanced that Daimler’s head of trucks has said that Tesla’s Semi has managed to pass them by with its amazing technology. He also added that Elon Musk’s company is defying the law of physics.
