The U.S Government Is Making A New Group To Study UFOs

For years it has been argued whether there is extraterrestrial life on other planets or not. The sightings of UFOs have happened in the past but nothing concrete was concluded from them. Now, after so many years, the US Department of Defense will be working on this aspect to determine the presence of life out there. They will have a new program solely dedicated to studying UFOs.

The group that will carry out the study is named the Airborne Object Identification and Management Synchronization Group (AOIMSG). It was announced on Tuesday via a DoD press release.

The main objective of the group will be to “detect, identify and attribute objects of interest” seen in military airspace. To be more exact, the aim will be to find out and study the origins of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). This term is a subtle way of referring to the UFOs by the US government.

AOIMSG will succeed the US Navy’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, which was created to study “UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to US national security,” according to an August press release from the DoD.

However, it is to be noted that the UFOs that were sighted are not 100 percent from outer space. Some of them were just fragments of the high-end technology on earth, and some are probably glitches and optical illusions.

The interest in this arena is growing presently. Recently, a bipartisan group in Congress introduced legislation to form an office dedicated to studying UFOs.  During this summer, the Pentagon published a report on UAP that did not raise many expectations but was a step in addressing the topic officially.

The standing of the US government on the topic is still not concretely known. Nothing for sure has been revealed. However, it is a positive step towards discussing the issue that was once only considered as a conspiracy theory.
