Most of us have been in this situation where you close the car door and begin to drive only to realize that the door is not properly closed. This can even lead to the door swinging open and also resulting in an accident. This is where today’s gadget comes in, say hello to Slamstop – a silent alternative to slamming the car doors shut.
The Slamstop is incorporated within the door panel and works by sensing when the door is closed, almost. When the door reaches that point, it softly pulls the door forcing it to close completely and latches it securely. The bonus is that Slamstop is capable of detecting when a child’s fingers (or other things) are in the way and won’t close till the path has been cleared. The added slot, it has been reported, is the only sign visible to affirm that Slamstop has been installed.
This system may sound familiar due to the fact that Slamstop has been featuring in high-end vehicles over the last few years. However, it is now available in the US as an add-on device that can be installed later on. The pricing for all doors of a 4-door car lies between $800 and $1,000. This cost includes the installation charges as well.
