Vessyl Is A Smart Cup That Automatically Tracks Everything You Drink

“Vessyl” is an ordinary looking 13 oz (385 ml) mug with extraordinary features and usage. As soon as you pour a drink in it, it can identify the type and the contents of the drink! It can give you exact details on its dietary content like sugar, protein, calories, fat, caffeine, etc. It can also identify the beverage by name. Once the information has been tracked, it sends the results to your smartphone via Bluetooth.

Thus, by using the daily consumption data like the amount of caffeine consumed or the quantity of sugar ingested along with the consequent calories consumed, you can learn to drink healthy and safe contents. So if you are looking to cut down on caffeine, this mug will help you to check caffeine content of every drink instantly before consuming it. You can also set daily targets for a certain nutrient, known as ‘lenses.’ The cup will display your choice and daily goals in a running tally on its sleek inbuilt display.

Vessyl can also tell you when to drink and how much to drink, specifically water. It displays a vivid blue line on its body that rises and falls depending upon your hydration level. This was a product called “Pryme,” that was introduced by the company earlier, and now it has been integrated with Vessyl and its app.

Justin Lee, the CEO of ‘Mark One’, is the man behind this unique and innovative product ‘Vessyl’. In an interview, he said,

“There are plenty of devices that track activity, but Vessyl is the first ever consumer product to automatically track your consumption in real time. Beverages are a major source of unnoticed calories, and Vessyl gives you the tools to easily know what you’re really drinking and motivate you to make healthier choices.”

The company has chosen not to reveal the “secret” behind the device’s technology. They only stated that the sensor itself doesn’t make any contact with the water; it is the magic of their processor and algorithms. They claim that the algorithms are used for differentiating between different brands of the same drink. Adding to the list of its amazing features, the beverage detection feature is independent of the preset library of drinks, and it can even detect the contents of homemade concoctions.

The product took seven years to develop and was finally built with the expertise of Yves Behar, the Jawbone designer. Vessyl is both fashionable and functional, with a spill-proof lid, and a non-stick interior. It also comes with a charging coaster that allows you to charge the device without any wires to provide enough power for an entire week’s usage.
