Polestar Has Set A New Technology Record For Super Fast Electric Car Charging

Recently, Polestar, the well-known electric vehicle company jointly owned by Geely and Volvo Cars, unveiled its revolutionary Extreme Fast Charging (XFC) technology. Demonstrated on the Polestar 5 car prototype, it represents a major advancement in the capacity to charge electric vehicles.

As a leader in developing extreme fast charging (XFC) electric vehicle (EV) batteries, battery company Storedot has effectively addressed issues like range anxiety and lengthy charging times that prevent the widespread use of electric vehicles. By utilising artificial intelligence algorithms to optimise patented inorganic and organic compounds, Storedot can charge electric cars in less than 10 minutes, creating a new standard in the market.

With peak rates of 370kW and consistent charging speeds of 310kW, the XFC technology outperforms the UK’s existing public charger capabilities in terms of efficiency and speed. Notably, the Polestar 5 with XFC is expected to surpass even mass-produced electric vehicles with the fastest charging times, such as the Porsche Taycan.

Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, emphasises how XFC technology has a revolutionary effect on owning electric vehicles, especially in reducing charging anxiety. Polestar hopes to bring the charging habits of electric cars closer to those found in conventional petrol or diesel vehicles by drastically cutting down on charging times and improving the whole driving experience.

XFC technology closes the experience gap between owning an electric vehicle and a conventional car by enabling drivers to quickly resume their road trips without stopping for extended periods to charge.
