New Lamborghini Essenza With 830 HP Has Been Declared Illegal For Highways

After releasing a number of teasers, the Italian Company finally launched its track-only hypercar. The Essenza features the most powerful naturally aspirated V12 ever developed by Lamborghini

Inspired by racing prototypes, the Essenza SCV12 is a direct descendant of cars such as the Miura Jota and Diablo GTR. “The Essenza SCV12 represents the purest track driving experience that our brand can offer, an engineering feat that highlights the inextricable link between our cars and the asphalt of the track,” Stefano Domenicali, CEO, and chairman of Automobil Lamborghini.

The track-only hypercar can benefit at high speeds with a unique feature they term as Ram Effect. The V12 engine produces an enormous 830 horsepower.

“Lamborghini is a brand constantly looking to the future and searching for new challenges. We never forget our roots and who we are, Essenza V12 is the perfect combination of our unconventional spirit as a super sports car manufacturer and our true passion for motorsport.” Stefano Domenicali explained in the Lamborghini Essenza press release.

Essenza comes with a sequential six-speed gearbox and features an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 hp per kilogram. The new generation of carbon fiber chassis is the key reason behind achieving such high power to weight ratios. The car comes without a roll cage and still fulfills FIA prototype safety rules. This is evidence for the chassis proving itself a super-strong structure.

“It is a project in which we combined the pursuit of engineering perfection with refined aerodynamics. It comprises the futuristic design and innovative solutions such as the carbon monocoque without an internal roll cage.” Lamborghini Essenza Press Release.

The limited-edition track-only Lamborghini hypercar will have 40 units developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse and designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile.
