Indian Artist Moonwalks On Broken Road To Get It Repaired

Baadal Nanjundaswamy Moonwalked To Get A Road In Bangalore Repaired

An Indian artist, Baadal Nanjundaswamy, came up with a unique and hilarious idea to showcase the poor state that the roads in the city of Bangalore are; he wore a realistic astronaut costume and then filmed while walking through the craters that resemble the surface of the moon.

Baadal Nanjundaswamy is quite famous for bringing civic issues such as the poor condition of roads and big potholes to limelight by making use of his mesmerizing street art. However, the most recent project undertaken by him proves to be his most popular one as of yet. Baadal Nanjundaswamy decided to raise awareness about the Tunganagar Main Road that is located in North Bangalore – the road is filled with potholes – by dressing up as an astronaut and then having someone film him while he ‘moonwalked’ through the huge craters. All of this takes place while rickshaws and cars drove by him.

The hilarious video was then uploaded on social media, becoming a sensational hit soon enough. The video by Baadal Nanjundaswamy has managed to achieve its desired effect as thousands of locals are praising his creativity while complaining about the conditions of the local roads. The artist even came up with a bright idea of tagging public authorities in the video. This means that they have no excuse for not responding to the public’s cry for help.

Within twenty-four hours of the video getting posted online, a team of workers was already working on fixing the craters. Baadal Nanjundaswamy is not just a critic, but he was also among the first to thank them for such a quick response. A Bangalore civic body spokesperson said, ‘Under the supervision of our chief engineer S Prabhakar, the potholes on Tunganagar main road have been filled. We responded at the earliest to the artist’s complaint.’
