Here Are 5 Reasons Why You Should Upgrade To The New iPhone 6

4

Now that the news of Apple revealing the latest iPhone has somewhat settled down, let us take the time out to check if it is really worth upgrading to iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. Below are top 5 reasons why you should or shouldn’t upgrade to an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

5. The Screen Size

Let’s start off with the obvious; we all know how Apple has resisted opting for larger screen sizes, however, that is not the case anymore. Apple has finally given in to the demand by the people for a larger phone by coming up with two models; one being the 4.7” screen iPhone 6 and a 5.5” screen iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 comes with a resolution of 1334×750 and the iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 1080p screen. Now, before you all jump to the conclusion that such a large screen is hard to use with one hand; Apple has introduced a ‘Reachability Gesture’ that allows you to basically shrink the screen so that you can manage it better with single hand – to activate it you need to tap the home button twice. We know from experience that an increase in screen size is always appreciated and easy to adapt to. Soon you would be thinking how you could ever work with that 4” screen.

4. Increased Local Storage

We all know that Apple doesn’t have external storage like many other smartphones do and that is why it was a buzz kill when you realized that the iPhone’s maximum capacity was 64GB. That, dear readers, is the news of the past because here comes iPhone 6 with an internal storage capacity of 128 GB with an extra payment of $200. Although the idea of cloud storage has gained quite popularity and many users simply depend on cloud storage, there are still a number of users who prefer the local storage. The only downside about iPhone 6 storage is the fact that there’s no 32GB version this time, it’s 16, 64 or 128 GB.

3. Payment Method – Apple Pay

Apple has introduced the wireless technology that will allow the users to make payments without contact. The Apple Pay Contactless Payment platform will launch in October and once you’re at a supported store, all you need to do is to tap the top of your iPhone on the NFC reader and that’s it; the transaction is complete. Tim Cook showed the demo clip multiple times – apparently, he loves this idea. The NFC chip being used in Apple’s phone will employ the use of a secure element in order to store the account details pertaining to user and Tim promised that Apple would never track any information pertaining to your purchases. Every transaction is assigned a unique id hence, killing off the risk of any security lapse.

2. Camera

There isn’t much change when you look at the MP of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus cameras; the same old 8MP rear camera, however, using a lower megapixel camera allows for faster capturing of images and application of effects. The camera does come equipped with some new features though; such as Focus Pixels. The camera will supposedly be better at detecting faces and shall be able to tackle 43MP panoramas as well.

1. Mobile Processors – A8 and M8

And finally we are at the feature that maters the most. Apple has managed to update the custom 64-bit mobile processor in the latest iPhone and that translates into enhanced speed and more battery life. The iPhone 6 shall be equipped with A8 chips that have 25% more processing power. The chip has been designed with a 20nm fabrication process that imparts less power consumption. These enhanced processors also allow Apple to come up with games in collaboration with developers that just can’t be pulled off on other platforms. Oh and the A8 comes with an enhanced GPU as well. Along with A8 came the new co-processor that is being called the M8. M8 has been designed for some specific purposes such as handling inputs from sensors. The sensors include accelerometer, barometric sensor and gyroscope.
