You might disagree with Elon Musk on how he runs his companies, or you might agree with his thoughts on conventional schooling, however; you cannot deny the fact that the upcoming Tesla Roadster is a highly-impressive vehicle bound to make an impact. Tesla has been hyping up the new Roadster for years. According to Tesla, the Roadster will feature breakneck specs and is all electric.
A recently released video by Tesla confirms that the Roadster is making its way to the consumer market. If you have been following the tweets of Elon Musk, then you know that the Tesla Roadster also made news earlier this year on account of Elon Musk stating that it will fly because of SpaceX technology. The seemingly absurd idea had a lot of Back to the Future fans excited.
The current specs of the 2020 Tesla Roadster, however, are short of flying but still quite impressive. When Tesla Roadster was first unveiled to the public, Musk had promised 620 miles of range, 200 kWh battery pack, and a top speed of 402kph. To put these specs into perspective, Tesla Roadster is able to go from 0 to 100kph in 1.9 seconds. This makes it the quickest production car ever produced leaving Bugatti Veyron or Koenigsegg Agera RS behind. It is safe to say that the Tesla Roadster has managed to get the world’s attention!
Tesla recently posted a short clip of the car making its way across a back road on Instagram. The Instagram clip doesn’t offer much, but the caption is amazing; ‘Zero to sixty faster than you can read this caption’. The Founder Series version of the Tesla Roadster will be hitting the market in 2020 and shall be available for an expected cost of $250,000. Only 1,000 units will be made upon release.
Elon Musk said the following to the critics, ‘I think I can say without getting trouble that those are actual figures. Those aren’t theoretical. Those aren’t calculations. We’ve done those numbers. And I probably shouldn’t say that numbers are even conservative, but they are. That thing is going to be a proper weapon. So I know there are lots of skeptics. People say, “Oh, yeah, but I’ll be dead before it comes out.” Have faith.’
