Unitree Robotics has uploaded a video of two robot dogs known as A1 that entered into an altercation. The complete video shows one of them tracking its owner by making use of infrared. It navigated its way through an intricate mix of common urban obstacles including curbs, passersby, and was able to recover from tumbles before falling down.
However, most importantly; this is a robot dog that won’t walk away from a fight. A1 is priced at $10,000 and the robot weighs in at 12 kilograms once the battery has been installed. The two robots ended up charging into one another similar to mad bulls. Both have equal ground and specs but one of them displays a higher sense of determination and charges with full power at the other robot.
None of the robots feature teeth but are capable of running at a speed of 3.3 meters per second (approximately 10.8 feet per second). During the production of this video, no robot dogs were actually harmed – or were they? As per the company’s website, each joint features a maximum torque of 33.5 Newton-meters. It might be fun to have your actual dog race with the A1.
According to the specs mentioned on the website, A1 can operate for a maximum of 1-2.5 hours. It would be interesting to see how long these dogs can actually fight. We are guessing that the fight could continue for about an hour at the very least.
The best part about the A1 is that it comes equipped with the hardware to carry out real-time HD video transmission with only a 0.1 – 0.2 seconds delay. This means that you could be able to enjoy the robot fight broadcasts from POV and ringside-seat cameras. The video transmission takes place wirelessly, of course. Do let us know what you think of these A1 robotic dogs and check out the video below.
