Watch SpaceX Tourists Perform Harry Potter Spells In Orbit

You can leave the planet or travel to space but one thing will always remain constant in your life: Your Harry Potter phase.

The SpaceX tourists onboard the Inspiration4 decided to get creative with anti-gravity and reenacted the famous scene from Harry Potter. If you’re a Harry Potter fan or not, you must have heard the infamous spell “Wingardium leviosa” at least once in your lifetime (and wished it was real, no? Just me, then? Okay…).

Sian Proctor, the Inspiration4 pilot performed the illusion of making a toy dog “magically fly” with the help of her assistant, Hayley Arceneaux, and the crew’s chief medical officer in a video posted on Twitter. As demonstrated in the video (the act was performed by professional magic casters, don’t try this at home), Proctor unleashed her magical powers on the toy dog and by chanting ‘wingardium leviosa’, made it float in midair, just like how Hermione taught Harry and Ron how to make a feather fly in the beginning.

The trick is fairly hard to perform if you’re on Earth but in space? Well, the zero-gravity does help but you need to be able to cast the spell with correct pronunciation as well as we all know, it’s leviOsa, not levioSA! Other than that, it seems like it’s a fairly easy magic trick to perform during space games or if you want to impress someone in the orbit.

Jokes aside, it was a very wholesome moment captured on video which shows that the crew can also have fun amidst the strict regulations and protocols. The toy dog that was used in the video had been borrowed from St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and also helps highlight their therapy dogs and spread a positive message to everyone!
