Watch Hyundai’s New ‘Crab Driving’ Electric Car Driving Sideways Into A Tight Spot With Autopilot

Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, has unveiled its new e-Corner system that makes parallel parking easier.

The e-Corner system is designed to make parallel parking easier and more efficient. This system allows for the wheels to turn 90 degrees and move diagonally, making it easier for drivers to park in tight spaces. The technology is seamless, and the wheels turn simultaneously without straining the brake lines.

In addition, the video also introduced other driving modes, such as diagonal driving and pivot turn. Diagonal driving allows all four wheels to turn 45 degrees in the same direction. In contrast, a pivot turn allows the driver to choose any point for the center axis to rotate the vehicle accordingly. These new driving modes make driving more flexible and efficient.

Hyundai’s e-Corner system is not the only car technology that offers the “crab walk” feature. General Motors’ latest Hummer model also has this feature. The “crab walk” function allows the front and rear wheels to steer at the same angle at low speeds, enabling it to drive diagonally around obstacles. The new Hummer is an electric “super truck” with a range of 350 miles and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in three seconds. However, Hummer’s older version pales compared to the new EV1. For example, a 2010 Hummer H3 has 300 horsepower, 320 lb-ft of torque, and a range of 322 miles.

In addition to the e-Corner system and the Hummer, Hyundai has also unveiled its new “walking car” called TIGER. The autonomous vehicle is not intended to carry passengers but is designed for scientific exploration or as an assistant to deliver food and medicine during natural disasters. Unlike other emergency vehicles, Hyundai’s concept can extend its four legs to climb over obstacles and then retract to transform into an all-wheel drive vehicle.
