How many of you followed the German Grand Prix this weekend? For those of you who didn’t follow; the weekend was all about chaotic rain-filled German Grand Prix. The winner is Max Verstappen, but that is not what this post is about. Not at all! We are here to talk about the pit crew at Red Bull Racing that catered to Max Verstappen.
The pit crew at Red Bull Racing managed to make a new record for the fastest pitstop ever. The pit crew was able to change the existing tires on the vehicle with new tires in only 1.88 seconds. The Dutch driver was driving RB15.
We have added a video at the end of this article that shows the pitstop of Max Verstappen from different angles. You can watch the pit crew close in, replace the tires, and step back in 1.88 seconds only. Even after watching the video for multiple times; you can hardly believe what you are seeing. It appears as if the two front tires get installed almost simultaneously. The entire pitstop, as is with any successful pitstop, happened as a single fluid motion. Each member of the pit crew performed the assigned task with due diligence and flawlessly.
The pitstop by Max Verstappen has beaten the last record that was set by Pierre Gasly and his Red Bull crew at Silverstone during the start of the season. The new record has beaten the previous record by only three one-hundredths of a second. We will have to see if any other pit crew is able to beat this record any time soon although it does seem a bit impossible.
