Parking lot warfare has just gotten real in southern California. With the launch of the Rezvani Vengeance, America’s road warriors may now go full military apocalypse, unhappy with their supersized pickup trucks and child-killing SUVs.
While its rivals have heated seats and optional roof racks, this beefed-up SUV has bulletproof glass, blinding strobe lights, electric door handles, and wing mirrors that can spew pepper spray, useful for putting those pesky bikers in their place.
The Vengeance includes armored body panels and bulletproof glass, as well as passenger armor, vests, and helmets; gas masks; magnetic deadbolts for the doors; run-flat tires; sirens; ultra-bright lighting; a thermal night vision system; and we’re not joking about spraying pepper spray. It’s also an option, and it features a smoke screen feature if you need to locate shelter for a speedy escape.
These and other items are included in the extra Military Package, but if you just want to look tough, the standard-issue Vengeance has the same massive video-game physique as the armored version. In actuality, Rezvani commissioned video game vehicle designer Milen Ivanov to create the Vengeance.
A Cadillac Escalade sits beneath it all, which means lots of luxury is standard. The Vengeance’s starting price of $249,000 includes heated and ventilated seats, navigation with augmented reality, a heads-up display, a rearview camera, a panoramic roof, and nearly every driver assist technology. There’s also the option of a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel with 277 horsepower or a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower. A 10-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the earth.
The Vengeance lacks a back windscreen, which is strange because it would be dangerous. Instead, drivers will see a live video rear-view mirror and a front camera with an “augmented reality” overlay. Perhaps it depicts a fictitious zombie army for you to slay on your way to the mall.
