This New Electric Supercar By BYD Can Take You To 62mph In Just 2.3 Seconds

BYD Auto, a big company making electric cars, has accomplished making its first super-fast car called the Yangwang U9. It is pretty impressive as it is currently competing with big names like Tesla, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. The eye-openeing price is $233,411 (1.68 million RMB), but it is worth its price as it can reach a top speed up to 192mph (309km/h), and go from 0 to 62mph (0-100km/h) in just 2.36 seconds.

One cool thing about the Yangwang U9 is that it can travel up to 279 miles (450 kilometers) on one charge. This is because of BYD’s special Blade Battery technology, which cools down quickly and charges super fast, up to 500 kW. Plus, it can boost the charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in only 10 minutes.

BYD emphasizes the unique aesthetic of the Yangwang U9, characterized by its “Time Gate” design language, which embodies distinct proportions, tension, and power, reflecting its identity as a pure electric supercar. Under the hood, the U9 showcases BYD’s new e4 platform and the DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System, delivering precise four-wheel torque control for enhanced safety and performance.

Powered by four independent electric motors, the U9 offers a remarkable 1,300 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1680Nm, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience. Recent tests have demonstrated its exceptional performance, with a 0-400m sprint time of just 9.78 seconds.

The DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System enables the U9 to achieve adjustable suspension travel of up to 75mm, enhancing vehicle agility and comfort across various driving scenarios. Rigorous track testing has led to improvements in thermal management, with the U9 doubling its maximum cooling capacity to withstand high temperatures effectively.

Aerodynamically, the U9 features 12 sets of active and passive aerodynamic packages, reducing drag coefficient and enhancing heat dissipation efficiency. Safety is paramount, with a super carbon fiber cabin constructed using next-generation cell-to-body (CTB) technology, ensuring unprecedented torsional stiffness and comprehensive travel safety.

For racing enthusiasts, the Yangwang U9 comes equipped with the DiLink150 intelligent platform, driven by custom 4nm 5G chips, offering intelligent racing assistance and detailed insights on nearly 30 racetracks across China. Internally, the cockpit features two 14-way adjustable seats and the Dynaudio Evidence Series high-end audio system, providing an immersive experience for both drivers and passengers.

BYD will initially launch the electric supercar in China this summer, with plans for subsequent launches in other global markets. With its groundbreaking technology and impressive performance, the Yangwang U9 signals BYD’s ambitious foray into the competitive world of high-performance electric vehicles.
