This Mini McLaren 720S Helps Your Kid To Become A Racecar Driver

It seems like Tesla isn’t the only one who wants to help kids join in the action of driving cars. After the miniature version of the Tesla Model S, a new competitor has entered the fray, this time with a sizeable amount of celebrated racing and sportscar history. We are talking, of course, about McLaren and their all-new, ferocious 720S Ride-On.

Did we say ferocious? We meant adorable. In the new pictures and advertisement revealed by McLaren, this mini version of the 720S supercar can be witnessed in all its scaled-down glory. It comes with an electric motor powerful enough to run whole cities, the world’s most advanced infotainment system, the same aggressive design of the road-going model and tires with enough grip to put modern Formula 1 cars to shame. Okay, maybe that’s pushing it a bit. But it does have a screen, many of the original’s design cues and a motor powerful enough to, well, actually move an adult. Much of it is similar to the kid-friendly version of the P1 hypercar made by McLaren, including the carbon fiber-esque materials. ‘Oh, it’s just another of those battery-powered Barbie cars for kids’, say the skeptics. No, it’s not, it’s a McLaren complete with the dihedral doors. Just look at those doors!

McLaren also released an advertisement for the new toy car, in which a racing driver can be seen teaching a 4-year-old kid how to make corners on a track on the mini McLaren while moving at blistering speeds.

The McLaren 720S Ride-On can be all yours for £315, as detailed in the official McLaren press release. The McLaren 720S forms part of the McLaren Super Series and is a successor to the McLaren 650S. The twin-turbo V8 engine sends a total of 710hp to the rear wheels, allowing it to reach speeds of nearly 210mph. It has a base price of about $280,000.
