The pool has a capacity of 250 million liters of seawater that is supplied to it via Pacific Ocean by making use of a computer-controlled suction and filtration system. This water is treated before it is allowed to enter the pool. Fernando Fischmann, owner of Crystal Lagoon, developed the pool. It started back in December 2006 and according to estimates and speculations; the cost of the pool is $1.5-2 billion while the maintenance cost per year rounds up to about $4 million.

It sure is gigantic when you look at the world’s second largest pool by the nickname of Big Splash and realize that it is only 135 meters long and about 90 meters wide. According to Fischmann, it is advanced engineering that allowed his company to build ‘an impressive artificial paradise’ even in areas that are inhospitable. He further said; ‘As long as we have access to unlimited seawater, we can make it work, and it causes no damage to the ocean.’World’s Largest Swimming Pool by Area6 World’s Largest Swimming Pool by Area7 World’s Largest Swimming Pool by Area8 World’s Largest Swimming Pool by Area9 World’s Largest Swimming Pool by Area10

Guests can make use of inflatable beds or carry out watersports that include kayaking, jet-skiing, yachting and what not. You can even get a lilly pad with trampoline and slide to have fun in the swimming pool. The water is clear like crystal and one can easily see the bottom although it is 35 meters below. If you think days are fun and spectacular, wait till you see this swimming pool at night.
