1. The Mamayev Monument, Volgograd, Russia
This statue is considered as a monument of Stalingrad during World War II and the 200 steps represent the days it took the battle to get over.

3. The Leshan Giant Buddha, Leshan, China
Standing tall at a height of 231 feet and showcasing sculpting, this is one of the tallest or largest Buddhas of the world.

The statue stands 140 feet tall outside the Batu caves in Malaysia.
5. Spring Temple Buddha, Zhaocun, China
The spring temple Buddha is the tallest steel statue in the world. Constructed in 2002, it is one of the biggest statues and seems to attract audiences from all around the world. The total height of this statue is about 420 feet.
6. Peter the Great, Moscow, Russia
Standing at about 315 feet above the ground, the history of this monument goes back to the year 1997 when it was built by Zurab Tsereteli.
7. Guanyin of Lianhuashan, China
This might not be one of the most tallest statues of the world, but what makes the statue interesting is 20 pounds of gold and 120 tons of bronze used in it.
8. The Laykyun Setkyar, Khatakan Taung, Myanmar
It took the statue nearly 12 years to be built. The two statues are really interestingly put together, one is lying broad and the other is standing tall. The glide statue stands 381 feet tall.
9. Virgin Mary, Trujillo, Venezuela
This is the world’s tallest statue of Virgin Mary standing up to a height of 153 ft. It was unveiled in 1983.
10. The Guan Yin of the South Sea of Sanya, China
The 354 ft. tall statue of Guanyin was completed in six years. It attracts pilgrims from all over Asia.
11. Mother of the Motherland, Kiev, Ukraine
This statue was created as a war memorial in 1981. The sword in the statue’s right hand weighs 9 tons and the shield in the left hand bears the emblem of Soviet Union.
12. Hanuman, Nandura, India
The statue features Hanuman – one of the most celebrated Hindu gods. It stands 105 feet tall.
13. African Renaissance Monument, Dakar, Senegal
The statue was built in 2010 and celebrates Africa’s independence from France.
14. Samantabhadra, Sichuan, China
This statue is located at the summit of Mount Emei, the highest of the four sacred Buddhist mountains of China.
15. Shiva of Murudeshwara, India
The towering statue of Lord Shiva is 123 feet high and it is designed in such a way that it gets direct sunlight – hence the sparkling effect. It is said to be adorned with gold until rain dissolved the paint.
16. The Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue, near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
