Technology continues to surprise us with something incredible every day. There can be no absolute agreement when it comes to selecting the very best of these tech marvels. Nonetheless, here is a list that which we came up with while digging for the greatest tech wonders:
5. The 10,000 Year Clock
A huge, hundreds of feet tall clock has been designed by Danny Hillis to run for 10,000 years with minimal maintenance and interruption. The clock harvests energy from sunlight and the people that visit it. The clock will use marine grade 316 stainless steel, titanium and dry running ceramic ball bearings. It is still under production in an underground facility in West Texas. The clock plays a different melody every time it chimes and is programmed as never to repeat a song until 10,000 years.
4. CERN’s Large Hadron Collider
CERN’s Large Hadron Collider is the biggest single machine of the world. It is the world’s most powerful particle collider in the world’s most sophisticated experimental facility. 175m beneath the France-Switzerland border near Geneva, it lies in a tunnel of 27-kilometer circumference having an energy of 13 TeV. The LHC is designed to assist research in particle physics.
3. Space Telescope Chandra
NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory is a telescope specially designed to detect X-ray emission from scorching regions of the Universe such as exploded stars, clusters of galaxies, and matter around black holes. Because X-rays get absorbed by Earth’s atmosphere, Chandra must orbit above it, up to an altitude of 139,000 km (86,500 mi) in space. The Smithsonian’s Astrophysical Observatory in Cambridge, MA, hosts the Chandra X-ray Center which operates the satellite, processes the data, and distributes it to scientists around the world for analysis. The Center maintains an extensive public website about the science results and an education program.
2. Pan STARRS-1
Pan-STARRS is a system for wide-field astronomical imaging developed and operated by the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii. Pan STARRS-1 (PS1) is a 1.8m telescope, uses the world’s biggest 1.8 Gigapixel camera. It is at Haleakala Observatories, near summit of Haleakala in Hawaii.

These tiny bots are the stars of the show. Atherosclerosis is a major cardiovascular disease involving accumulations of lipids, white blood cells, and other materials on the inside of artery walls. These nanobots, just one-quarter of a millimeter, are powered by tiny piezoelectric motors and are capable of swimming in blood. These little groups of charged particles band together to break up clogged arteries. The bots first deliver drugs to soften the plaque and then break it down.
