Thanks To A Batman Shirt, Smart Door Bell Locked Out This Man Out Of His Own Home

A man wearing a Batman shirt was locked out of his own home by his Nest Hello doorbell, which mistook his T-shirt for an intruder. B.J. May shared a tweet saying the smart doorbell picked up Batman’s face on his T-shirt instead of his own.

He explained that while the doorbell locked him out, he still had the option to unlock the door with a pin-code as well as with his phone, so it was actually not that big an issue. He also said that although this would not have happened had he used regular keys to lock/unlock his door; he appreciates having the option to lock/unlock his door remotely especially to let in/let out his kids.

All the devices are wifi-enabled and embedded with self-learning capability. While the products have a somewhat limited consumer base right now, they’re expected to become more popular as automated home systems become more common and affordable.
