Samsung Is Going To Unveil Galaxy Glass To Compete With Google Glass

Google is working hard to come up with new gadgets and concepts while also being busy in acquiring new companies. However, there are other companies out there that are willing to challenge Google in one way or another.
Today we are going to talk about one such gadget which might be out in the market soon enough to challenge Google Glass and the company behind it is none other than Samsung. The gadget is being called ‘Galaxy Glass’ apparently and rumors say that it will be unveiled this year’s IFA consumer electronics show scheduled to take place in Berlin.

According to a report in The Korea Times, an anonymous employee of Samsung has told that the development of this ‘Galaxy Glass’ is well underway and the smart eyewear will be introduced soon enough. These rumors began spreading back in October 2013 when a design patent submission was carried out by Samsung under the name of sports glasses. The working principle will be the same as that of Google Glass with the Galaxy Glass able to connect to user’s smartphone and allow them to enjoy music, take calls, display text messages, email alerts and all that within the field of vision of user.

The employee said and we quote; ‘The new smart glass to be introduced by Samsung is a new concept of wearable device that can lead to an exciting culture of communication.’ No doubt about that, Samsung sure has its ways of bringing out concepts out in the open. The employee further added; ‘Because wearable devices are kind of accessories, design is a major factor. Samsung smart glasses should be simple and appealing on the surface.’

Google Glass will be released commercially sometime at the end of this year but with all the uncertainty and unconfirmed launch date, we might be able to witness the Samsung’s Galaxy Glass before the Google Glass hits the market.
