Qualcomm unveiled the latest Snapdragon 835 chips at the beginning of January 2017. Samsung has been accused of hoarding the chips which are on back order until the release of Galaxy S8 in April.
The latest Snapdragon 835 is not available in bulk which means every other rival Android company will be launching their flagship devices with the older processors. It has been revealed that the rival LG G6 will be running on Snapdragon 821.
The new Snapdragon 835 is a 10nm design with over three billion ultra-efficient transistors. It is also 35 percent smaller than the previous Snapdragon 821. The processor uses 25 percent lesser power than its predecessor, thus facilitating battery savings. It also features support for quick charge 4.0, offering 20 percent faster charging in compliance with Google’s new USB-C charging specifications.

Considering that Samsung helped Qualcomm build the chip, it is not a surprise that it either purchased all of the chips or possibly just made a deal to stop distribution until the launch of Galaxy S8. It looks like a strategy to vindicate Samsung from the losses that came with the Note 7 disaster.
