The world is fixated on the idea of robots taking over every domain of life. Recently, Lieutenant General Andrey Grigoriev, head of the Russain Advanced Research Foundation stated:

“I see a greater robotization [of war], in fact, future warfare will involve operators and machines, not soldiers shooting at each other on the battlefield.”

ARF is considered to be the Russian analogue of DARPA. The Russian Military Tech Chief believes that the combat robots will determine the outcome of the future wars.

Last year, the Russian general revealed that the country was working on a cyborg that appeared like a human and was designed to function and move in aggressive environments and hostile territory. Once completed, this humanoid would be able to run, jump, clear obstacles, and ride a motorbike.

Another development in the domain of robotic warfare was the use of Uran-6 mine-cleaning robots by the Russian bomb disposal units in the city of Palmyra, Syria. The robots were equipped to cause a controlled explosion or destroy the explosive material.

These advancements in military robotics lead us to one big question: the role of the humans on the future battlefield! Grigoriev stressed that although human will not actively take part in the battlefield, they will operate the systems remotely:

“They would be integrated into large comprehensive reconnaissance-strike systems. The soldier would gradually turn into an operator and be removed from the battlefield.”

Russia is also working on the design of another humanoid, Ivan The Terminator. You can watch the robot in this video:

The most significant aspect of the statement of the Russian general is that these robots will not only fight on land, in air, and in the sea, but will also be equipped to fight in the outer space.
