The setup was planned in the tech hub of Shanghai, and the project is supported by a sizeable backing investment of $150 million. The factory is designed with the aim of becoming the gold standard in the future of robotics factories. ABB envisions the future site housing, collaborative robotics, artificial intelligence, research, and other digital technologies. The concept of the underlying factory is to increase collaboration and making the most of every meter of the production facility. This also involves encouraging the onsite engineers, managers, and operators to conduct more real-time monitoring and assessment which will be enhanced by the company’s Ability Connected Services. This is also a coordinated system for spotting potential problems in the early stages, maximizing performance, and reducing the downtime.
