Photographer Captures What The Peaceful Borders Of European Countries Look Like

The Peaceful Borders of European Countries (1)

Valerio Vincenzo is a photographer based in Netherlands whose project ‘Borderline, the Frontiers of Peace’ is based on the radical changes that have taken place over the last 10 years since the Schengen Agreement was signed in Europe.

This particular agreement rendered the borders among the singing countries, in essence, void and thus promotes a progressive unification of Europe via promotion of open and peaceful borderlines.

It features a total of 26 European countries that agreed to abolishment of passports and border control at the shared borders. Thanks to this agreement, more than 16,500 km of borders have become explore-able for free. Using a GPS and detailed maps, Vincenzo traversed these demolished borderlines and captured images that exhibit ‘the essence of these now-peaceful crossings’. Check out his work below and let us know what you think of it.
