We all have had the frustrating situation where we are stuck somewhere in dire need of a connection but have a dead phone on our hands since we forgot to plug it in at night. Now no matter how fast, slim and sleek your phone is; it is essentially a brick if the battery is dead. In comes our long lost friend Nokia, with its functionality phone made for situations like these.

Microsoft has over the years struggled to make their phones compete in the market with the monopoly of Samsung and Apple. But it seems as now they have decided to revert to their tried and true design of the ancient Nokia in a bid to revitalise their business once again.

With 16mb of RAM and a QVGA screen with a resolution of just (320 x 240), the stats are hardly impressive when compared with the current phones in the market. But these phones can never compete with Nokia when it comes to durability and extremely long lasting battery, for which their phones are known for.

Okay, so it is not one of your flashy phones. But it does bring back the sweet old memories of good, dependable phones. And hey, it also features a 3.5mm head jack, so that’s a win for all the people who don’t want to trade their headphones for “Air Pods”. Also, it is most likely to be very cheap; thus it will be a good choice for a first phone to your child. It doesn’t have social media and other potentially distracting websites, so it will enable your child to develop a sense of responsibility while having the advantage of staying connected.

Microsoft has also announced that they are making this phone and all their other products more environmentally responsible by implementing a BFR free, PVC free and nickel free policy for their product’s surface. They also claim that the phone packaging will be made of renewable materials and will also be 100% recyclable and 100% recoverable.
