Lamborghini Has Revealed The New Aventador Replacement – And It Is A 1,001hp Monster

The 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto is the Italian automaker’s first plug-in hybrid supercar. Despite the initial shock of the beloved Aventador being replaced with a hybrid, Lamborghini is committed to the electric future.

However, fans need not worry about the Revuelto’s speed, performance, and handling. The powertrain alone is impressive, with a 6.5-liter V12 engine and three electric motors, providing a combined 1,015cv or 1,001hp. The Revuelto also features a fully electric drive mode with three e-motors powered by a 3.8kWh battery pack, providing up to 10km or 6.2 miles of all-electric range.

Interestingly, the electric motors provide four-wheel drive and enable electric torque vectoring, a first for Lamborghini. The engine setup is lighter and more powerful than the Aventador’s, producing 814 horsepower and 725 Newton meters of maximum torque.

Design-wise, Lamborghini drew inspiration from the world of aerospace and its past models, including the iconic scissor doors from the 1971 Countach. The Revuelto’s design features sculpted surfaces and two lines that start from the front and embrace the cabin and engine, tapering down to the hexagonal-shaped exhausts.

The Revuelto is also equipped with the latest in-car technology, including a 12.3-inch digital cockpit, an 8.4-inch center display, and a 9.1-inch display for the passenger. It’s the first Lamborghini to include a fully advanced driver-assist system, with cameras, radar, and other sensors enabling active lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, lane change warnings, and rear cross-traffic alerts. Owners can monitor the car’s status and perform remote operations through Lamborghini’s Unica mobile app.

The Revuelto’s design draws inspiration from both aerospace and Lamborghini’s past models, including the 1971 Countach, the Diablo, and the Murciélago. Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann believes the Revuelto “defines a new paradigm” for the company and for high-performance brands in general.

As for its performance, the Revuelto can accelerate from 0 to 100kph (0 to 62mph) in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of over 350kph (218mph). However, this level of performance comes at a cost, with the Revuelto priced at 500,000 euros ($542,165).

Lamborghini plans to roll out gas-electric hybrid versions of its entire lineup by the end of 2024. The hybrid versions of the Huracán and Urus are expected to debut in August and October of this year. The company plans to introduce its first all-electric model by the end of the decade.

In summary, the 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto represents a significant step forward for Lamborghini and high-performance vehicles. Its advanced powertrain and technology, combined with its sleek design and exceptional performance, make it a true standout in the automotive industry.
