Ah, Coca Cola, you never fail to surprise us with your creative projects and how you look after the interests of people. Today’s world thrives on Internet and therefore, having access to Internet is nothing short of having access to a better and richer environment. Keeping this fact in mind, Coca-Cola South Africa did something amazing; partnering up with Coca-Cola Fortune and BT Global Services (communications company) to bring free Wi-Fi to community via Coke vending machines.
At first, the Wi-Fi will be made available at machines that will be placed at selected outlets, two in total. One shall be placed at the Sasol Integrated Energy Centre that is located in the village of Quni un the country’s Eastern Cape province while the second shall be placed at Thokozane Fast Food store located in the city of Bushbuckridge at Mpumlanga province. These locations, as per reports, are close to schools and shopping centres while also being famous with locals.
No purchase is required to enjoy this Wi-Fi and it shall remain available to users as long as they are within its reach. Apart from other intended uses, it is being speculated that this approach will help students with the research for their school projects while also allowing small business owners to tackle their affairs online.
The project is part of a program known as BT’s Better Future Program that aims at bringing more Wi-Fi Coke machines in other communities located within South Africa as progress is made.
