A lot of people out there know what it feels like to sleep with a snoring partner. People are tired of the disrupted sleep and it has given rise to a number of noise-canceling earbuds designed for a peaceful night of sleep. The latest among these earbuds are the QuietOn Sleep buds. They are designed by ex-Nokia engineers and use active noise cancellation with a focus on blocking low-frequency sounds.
What makes the QuitOn Sleep buds different from competitors is that the creators take pride in the fact that their invention can actually hone in on low-frequency sounds below 500 Hz, which are not blocked by other earbuds in the market.
The noise-canceling abilities were developed after analyzing hundreds of tapes of snoring along with other noises like music coming through the walls and outside traffic. The finished product contains built-in speakers that emit a phase-shifted sound that is designed to drown out the audio irritations.
Finished in soft foam cushion, the buds fit snugly inside the ears of the users and a simple tap can switch them from sleeping to hearing mode which allows sounds from the surrounding to pass through. The QuitOn Sleep buds can be placed inside a carrying case that also acts as a charging station.
The charging station connects to a wall outlet via micro USB and can charge the buds completely in just one hour and provide 20 hours of use. This is the second generation of these buds, the first ones were launched back in 2016 on Indiegogo and raised $1 million in the process.
The second generation is 40% smaller than the predecessor and has raised $570,000. Even though the target has been met, you can still pledge $159 to get your hands on one. Shipping is expected to begin in October 2018. You can check them out in the video below:
