Some selfies helped Durham police recover a stolen camera in Beaverton.
A 48-year-old woman in Brock was accused of stealing a surveillance camera from a house in Beaverton a few months ago. She is charged for allegedly using the camera, reported by Durham police.
According to the police, a surveillance camera was robbed in May from a house and the woman who stole the camera took a couple of selfies with it.
In the same month when this episode occurred, the Durham police got a report from Beaverton regarding the surveillance camera being taken away.
The suspect kept taking her pictures with the camera, and little did she know, those pictures were remotely sent to the owner, police said.
Those images were provided to police, who identified a suspect and obtained a search warrant in an attempt to recover the camera.
The police arrested a 48-year-old woman from Brock and charged her with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and would be set free on an undertaking.
Officers found the camera and returned it to its rightful owner.
