Boston Dynamics Robot Can Now Climb Stairs

Boston Dynamics recently released a video which showed the humanoid robot running and crossing the obstacle course, leaping over a thick log and then jumping on three separate wooden platforms. This video is an indication that now the robots are capable of chasing you on the stairs as well as performing some necessary gymnastic-level backflips as well. Atlas has its performance improved a lot since its debut where its ability to march through the woods was shown.

The company states in the video that it is easy for Atlas robot to navigate 40cm tall platforms. The statement says, “computer vision to locate itself with respect to visible markers on the approach to hit the terrain accurately.” This robot from Boston Robotics is perhaps the closest thing to a robotic soldier that we have seen so far.
