Asus Has Unveiled A 32-Inch, 8K Pro Monitor With 4,096 Lighting Zones

Asus has unveiled the ProArt PA32KCX display, aimed at professionals in photo and video editing, showcasing state-of-the-art features showcased at the NAB trade event. Marketed as the “inaugural 8K mini-LED display globally,” it boasts 8K resolution, HDR compatibility, DisplayPort 2.1, and a min-LED panel with 4,096 lighting partitions.

This display distinguishes itself with its remarkable color precision, presenting an average delta E value below one and encompassing 97% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. Asus includes calibration tools and an embedded colorimeter, streamlining the calibration process. Moreover, the display offers self-calibration options and can be programmed for auto-calibration on a preset timetable.

With 10-bit color depth and impressive luminosity levels (peaking at 1,200 nits, sustained at 1,000 nits), it adeptly exhibits HDR content. Supporting diverse HDR formats like HLG and HDR10, it assures compatibility with various content types.

Users can also benefit from a variety of connectivity options, including DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and dual Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports. One of these ports can deliver up to 96W of charging power for connected devices. Moreover, for those working in brightly lit environments, there’s the option to use an anti-glare cover for improved visibility and comfort.

While Asus has not divulged pricing details, projections indicate it could fetch up to $8,000, prompting attention due to its elevated cost.
