8. The iPhone 7 S will be bigger

The iPhone 7 will be followed by an ‘S’ version which is expected to have an updated processor and a bigger screen. A report from Barclays claimed that this year’s phones would come in two larger sizes than the usual 4.7 and 5.5 inches. The screens will measure 5 and 5.8 inches, which are rumored to be the sizes of the S versions of the iPhone 7. However, the iPhone 8 is expected to come in only one size.

6. iPhone 8 will have a glass body and an aluminum frame

The Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo of the KGI Securities, claims the iPhone 8 will have a body made of glass on an aluminum frame. The iPhone 4 and 4 S has a glass back so, the aesthetics of the iPhone 8 might be similar to that. Another report from Nikkei, a Japanese news website also suggests that the new iPhone will no longer have a metal back.

5. No home button

This one is probably the most spread rumor of all. The new iPhone 8 will replace the physical home button with a Touch ID home button which will make use of optical sensors. Ming-Chi Kuo says that the thicker OLED panels will allow reading the fingerprints better than the usual capacitive touch sensors eliminating the need for an exposed fingerprint sensor on the home button.

John Gruber’s rumors support Kuo’s claim that the fingerprint sensor will be made invisible by embedding it into the front glass panel.

4. Incredible OLED display

Of all other amazing things, an anniversary phone deserves to have the best display ever, and the iPhone 8 is rumored to have it. The iPhone 8, which can be called as the iPhone 10, will use a different Touch ID fingerprint reader which is possible only with an OLED display. Other iPhones released this year will have the usual LCD but the anniversary premium phone will be different, having a power efficient OLED display which is superior to LCD in colors, brightness, and contrast.
