Submersible pumps, as their name suggests, are submerged in the fluid which they have to pump. Contrary to the conventional pulling action, they push the fluid and find their applications in water and oil wells. A 1 Horsepower unit has an approximately 600-650 pumping head in feet and the pumping capacity increases as you decrease the head.

“Since I have not tested it for an extended period, no long term results with this review.

I drained my large pool using this pump. Although the water is mostly clean, there is always some debris so a submersible pump is my choice, instead of a fresh water pump. It didn’t clog once, and primed very quickly and had enough head to empty the lowest area of the pool.

I also used it to empty a filthy in ground pool, and it also worked great this little pump impressed me.
This pump replaces one that looks quite similar that I picked up at harbour freight for $70. That one lasted several years of rare use. If this one fails prematurely I’ll update this, but so far, so good.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I had never installed a pump before, luckily my son and brother helped me. This is a “heavy” duty pump!
It would have been almost impossible for me to do the job alone. The pump itself came on time, well packaged and protected and did I mention heavy at least heavier than I expected. Like I said, I’ve never done this before. The reason that I opted for this particular pump is that it came pre-wired with 100 feet of cable, and I had no desire to try to make a waterproof splice. We put it into the well, just to make certain it worked. The water in my well tends to be very high, (approx. ground level even when it,s been an arid season. Most of the year the water is overflowing out of a drain pipe, and the proper casing is about 2.5 feet above the surface of the ground.) When we plugged the pump in, it ran VERY quietly, and the rotational torque was almost negligible. The pump produces a very strong volume of water and works without a hitch. I am extremely pleased with this pump and would very heartily recommend it. Thanks again Amazon. Once again you’ve made my life much easier.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I bought this pump to replace a shallow well pump in my basement. Install was very simple with the wire and control box included. I readjusted my pressure switch and bladder tank up for 40-60 psi instead of the old 30-50 that the shallow well worked very hard to reach the 50 psi. It takes exactly 20 seconds for a complete cycle from 40 to 60 psi with this pump. I’ve only had this pump in service for four days so it’s too early to say how the reliability of it is. Overall my opinion means it is a great price on a great product!” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“I have a reverse osmosis system that uses a lot of water plus two dehumidifiers in the basement. I have a 1700 gallon cistern about 80 feet from the RO system. The 1/4 inch hose from the RO system now goes into a 32-gallon plastic rubbish barrel. Now this little 3/4 HP pump easily pumps up about four feet and goes 80 feet and fills my cistern when needed. To pump through a 3/4 inch garden hose, I had to purchase a 1 inch to a 3/4 inch adapter onto the 3/4 inch which was not the same thread for a garden hose coupling. I added another 3/4 adapter to a garden hose 3/4 thread. I cut off the top thingie on the pump, screwed the one inch onto the pump and screwed the additional 3/4 garden hose thread onto the one inch and VOILA everything works perfectly. I wondered if it would pump the 80 feet to the cistern and the 100 feet to our pool. It takes a few minutes but no more lugging 5-gallon pails of water to the cistern. Before purchasing this pump, I questioned this site to find out if I could attach a garden hose. Some said yes, and some said no. The cost for the two brass parts was $20.00 so for a total of about $70.00 we’re good to go. Big drought here 8/16 in the east 20 miles south of Boston so now I can water my tomatoes all day with no problem with water restrictions. Even without my other pump from the cistern this 3/4 HP pump has enough pressure to water the garden and wash the car. Great value. I almost bought a 1/6 hp pump from Zoro for $140.00 but found this much stronger pump and in the end saved myself $70.00 (-:” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

“Serious – Heavy Duty – Sump Pump. My parent’s basement flooded for the first time in 25 years. I don’t expect to get that much rain again for another 25 years, but if we do, I think this can stay ahead of it. At the time it took t 1/4hp. Pumps that discharge out a garden hose to stay ahead of the rising water. This 1hp. With the 1 1/2,” discharge should be more than enough. The pump seems very well built and sturdy.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.

This product is a submersible 230 V, 60 Hz, 33 GPM, 207′ head, stainless steel pump. This two wire pump has a built-in control Xbox and does not require an external control box. It is ideal for home usage and has a built-in thermal protection.

“This pump has a max pressure of 80 psi. So if you have a “deep well” of 100ft., It takes 40 psi to raise 100ft. Leaving 40psi at the top. So the max pressure is 40psi at pump kick off, 20psi at pump kick on. So, this would not be the pump you want if well is over 50′ deep, unless you don’t care if the pressure is a little low. As a rough guide, the higher the volume, the lower the pressure.” – Amazon’s Customer Review.
