Watch This 1969 Mercedes 280 SL Be Brought Back To Life After 37 Years

What you are going to be witnessing is a 1969 Mercedes 280 SL getting its very first bath and possibly human contact in thirty-seven years. The car is owned by the father of David S. and David decided to get detailing done on this 1969 Mercedes 280 SL,

Whether you love cars or enjoy watching things being returned to their former glory; you will love this amazing video. The auto resurrectionists from AMMO NYC have yet again filmed another amazing video of their legendary garage hunts. David S. came up with the idea for this detailing so that he could convince his dad to invest in the restoration of the 1969 Mercedes 280 SL for the sake of handing the car down to the grandkids.

The red 1969 Mercedes 280 SL was bought by the father of David S. while his mother was giving birth to David in 1972. David’s father was actually the second owner of the car and drove the car for over 100,000 miles as he commuted to and from the Bronx every day for a good ten years before finally parking the car in the garage in 1982 and never starting it up again.

This is where the guys from AMMO NYC come in as David is a firm believer that his father has simply forgotten how amazing the car and David’s requests for restoration have been denied so far. David, relentless as ever, thought that if he gave the car a proper detailing after thirty-seven years; his father might agree to restore the car to its former glory.

The video shows the crew from AMMO NYC working its way through mouse droppings, mouse skeletons, and heaps of mold that plague the 1969 Mercedes 280 SL. The team relied on vinegar, water, and a steam machine to make sure that the acidity exposure remains controlled. The reaction that comes from dad after watching the car is priceless.
