Mars will be making its closest approach to Earth in more than a decade. The term “closest” implies that Earth and Mars will still be around 46.8 million miles apart. So if you are waiting for the red planet to appear the same size as that of the moon, it will just not happen.

The reduced distance will make it comparatively easier to spot the Red Planet with the naked eye. You can also use a telescope to look at the right of the star Antares to find Mars.
