Admit it we’ve all been there, taking an office meeting while driving, pretending that you’re at home, and doing your work all. But things get iffy when they ask you to turn on your webcam. Ohio State Senator, Andrew Brenner, was in a similar situation when he was caught driving around town while also attending a Monday meeting call on Zoom. He turned his webcam on and off again while adjusting himself as to not let his video show that he was in the car.
The funniest thing is that he also tried to use the virtual backgrounds but they failed miserably as they kept on glitching as Brenner was driving around making it hard for the background to keep in place. Aside from that you can also see his seat belt and notice the fact that he’s checking his blind spots often. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he’s actually driving.
The irony is that the state to which Senator Brenner belongs is actively weighing down on a bill that would impose harsher penalties for distracted driving. I guess he figured since the bill hasn’t been passed, he might as enjoy while he can.

After being caught, Brenner even nervously admitted to Dispatch that this was a regular occurrence to him. Still, Brenner didn’t really admit that what he doing was wrong, even saying that he was paying full attention to the road. He said that “I had two meetings that were back-to-back that was in separate locations. And I’ve actually been on other calls, numerous calls, while driving. Phone calls for the most part but on video calls, I’m not paying attention to the video. To me, it’s like a phone call”.
He further added that “I was wearing a seat belt and paying attention to the road”. The last time I heard, you could get fined for using your phone while driving, even for attending a phone call. Not to mention the senator even tried to hide the fact with a virtual background.
Tasked failed successfully.
