Watch A Police Officer Narrowly Escaping An Out-Of-Control BMW In A Harrowing Video

A police officer in Virginia will be living life to his fullest now after luckily avoiding a dangerous crash on Monday morning in a suburb outside of Washington D.C. An out-of-control F-80 Generation BMW M3 which was traveling in the opposite direction, skidded across the grassy median and crashed into an officer’s patrol car and another car alongside which he had pulled over.

If you look at the video, you can see that the moment and point of impact was very dangerous and frightening at the same time. The officer was very lucky to be in a place where neither the out-of-control car nor the one he pulled over hurt him and he luckily escaped with only a few minor injuries.

The M3 can be seen smashing into the BMW as it slams into the guard rail, while the M3 proceeds to further hit the officer’s patrol car. The officer had his right leg clipped by the car which is really difficult to tell in the video.

There weren’t a lot of options for the officer as it would have been very dangerous for him to be near his own car as well as the car he pulled over whether it was the passenger side or the driver’s side. Luckily, he was at the right place at the right time.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said that nobody was seriously injured, including the occupants in the M3 and the 7 Series driver, which is a testament to modern safety technology.

The driver of the M3 was a 17-year-old and what caused him to lose control of the car is still unclear. The speed of the car at the time of impact was 120 mph and it seems that the reason could be a blown tire, excessive speeding, too much car, or a combination of the three.

To make this an all-Bavarian affair, an E89-generation Z4 almost endures the wrath of the M3, too. From the video posted by NBC on its page, it looks like its driver stopped to offer assistance.
