The Slow Mo Guys, Gav and Dan are here with a Universal Testing Machine and a 1.5-inch thick steel beam. With this equipment, they caused great destruction. The initial force on the beam made it go through an elastic extension. From there, it went to plastic level before it finally reached the yield point. Then, it snapped into two while dispersing small pieces from its outer layer all in a beautiful 28,500fps slow motion.

The machine tugs the beam at 222 kips (222,000 pounds), and the visuals caught by the high-speed camera produce a mesmerizing show of science in action.
