U.S Army Is Developing The World’s Deadliest Ever Laser Weapon

These lasers throw bullet-like pulses of light to exterminate their targets.

The new U.S army-developed laser weapon can vaporize its targets and disrupt enemies’ tech signals using pulses. The new device has been termed as the world’s most powerful laser to date.

The new system is named ‘Tactical Ultrashort Pulsed Laser for Army Platforms.’ It will be a million times stronger than any other laser system developed to date.

The new system uses short pulses that function on low energy, whereas the old laser technology continuously emits beams that utilize comparatively high amounts of energy.

The new laser is said to achieve the goal of terawatt for a short 200 femtoseconds. In other words, it makes one quadrillionth of a second. It is the amount of time that this new laser would take to melt or vaporize a drone. Moreover, its functioning includes disrupting electronic systems around where it is active. This feature makes it a live electromagnetic pulse that hinders the functioning of such devices. As per the U.S claims, first of its kind would be all set to vaporize its enemies by 2022.

The new system will be a game-changer. It would be instrumental in combating small drones and missiles. It would have deadly effects on humans and cause several reactions, ranging from skin irritation to loss of sight.

A brief description of the future deadly laser system states, “The hope is to develop a UPSL that’s big enough, has enough power, and ruggedization to be used on Army platforms.”

One of the new laser’s key differences from the previously used laser devices is that it would vaporize drones and missiles’ outer surfaces. In contrast, the existing laser devices tend to melt them.

The new system is being designed in a way so to complete military assignments. Such laser devices have been developed earlier for military use. However, the new laser specifications and deadly capabilities have caught much more attention than existing laser devices.
