This Smart Robotic Suitcase Recognizes Its Owner And Follows Him

From smart thermostats to intelligent sous vide machines, we have become heavily dependent on technology for even the most basic tasks of our life. But if you are one of the forgetful ones who always leave behind their luggage on the airport or bus station, this intelligent suitcase is just the right one for you.

This high piece of technology is a robotic suitcase named Olive. The designers of Olive, the German design team IKAP-Robotics, bid Olive as the world’s first intelligent suitcase.

Olive does more than store your clothes for a vacation. The suitcase interacts with its user and can follow him around on the terminal. The robotic bag is fitted with a two wheeled balancing system resembling a hoverboard.

The two-wheeled maneuvering system can maintain its balance and move around even amidst heavy foot traffic.

The intelligent suitcase uses a complex 3D image processing system and proximity sensors to identify and thus, follow its rightful owner.

A turn of knob is all it takes to convert this suitcase in to a two-wheeled ride. This mode of commute can come in handy when you are too tired to walk through the long terminals.

An alarm alerts the users if Olive is left behind and an automatic lock will ensure the safety of your luggage. Even if you lose your luggage, Olive is fitted with GPS and 3G/4G technology to keep you updated about the location of your bag, anywhere in the world.
