This self-balancing electric scooter is a convenient way to get around. However, it can also get bulky when you want to carry it or tow them with you. To end this misery, a German startup is now offering a new solution to this problem, in the form of their product, the folding UrmO. When the Urmo is in its unfolded state, the rider stands upon it. At this time, it behaves like any other ‘hoverboard.’ To steer the scooter, they only need to shift their weight to either left or right. Braking and acceleration also work the same way. The bike can reach a top speed of 15km/h.
One time charge of the battery can last for a range of 20km. When the battery runs out, a charge of 45 minutes can bring it back to 80 percent. The scooter has two 14-inch hubless wheels which are foam filled. Once it is time to stop riding, the UrmO can fold up within 2 seconds and then carried flat using its handle, just like a briefcase. It weighs nearly 6.5kgs.
The manufacturing company aims to begin a Kickstarter campaign on 8th October 2018. Pledges will start from $1176, and the retail price will be around $2,353. If you wish to see the prototype of the scooter, watch this video below where you can see it in action.
