This New SUV By Fisker Just Set A New Range Record For Any EV

In a press release, Fisker, a US-based automotive company, announced that their all-electric SUV, the Fisker Ocean Extreme, has a combined Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) range of up to 440 miles (707 km).

This makes it the longest-range battery electric SUV available in Europe, surpassing Fisker’s original estimate of 390 miles (627 km) and providing drivers with a sense of comfort and convenience. With the ability to travel from London to Glasgow or Paris to Frankfurt without requiring a recharge, the Fisker Ocean offers exceptional range assurance.

Compared to other long-range SUVs sold in Europe, such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV (365 miles) and the Tesla Model X (351 miles), the Fisker Ocean’s range is substantially greater.

“From the beginning, we planned the Fisker Ocean to deliver the highest level of design, sustainability, innovation, usability, and range. We created a fantastic 5-passenger vehicle, offering our buyers range confidence and convenience in every trip,” CEO Henrik Fisker said.

“This achievement is a major milestone for everyone at Fisker, and we are delighted the range exceeds our initial calculations,” Fisker continued.

Fisker has introduced the Ocean, an environmentally friendly SUV that comes in three different versions: Extreme, Ultra, and Sport.

The Ocean Sport’s base model has a single-motor powertrain that can produce 275 horsepower, providing a range of 275 miles and reaching 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds.

The Ocean Ultra is equipped with a dual motor system capable of producing 540 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.9 seconds, with a range of 390 miles.

The top-of-the-line Ocean Extreme, on the other hand, has a 550-horsepower engine that can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.6 seconds and travel up to 440 miles on a single charge.

Fisker has not disclosed the battery capacities yet, but the Ocean Sport will be equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, while the Ultra and Extreme models will have batteries with nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cell chemistry provided by CATL.

The Fisker Ocean’s design is both beautiful and innovative, and it is reasonably priced and sustainable. Some versions of the Fisker Ocean are already sold out in certain markets. Interested buyers can reserve and customize their own Fisker Ocean by visiting the Fisker website.
