This New Street-Legal Superbike By Ducati Makes More Than 240 Horsepower

Yank Ducati’s new Panigale V4 R standard has a titanium Akrapovic race pipe as an exhaust pipe. It is also filled with “performance oil” from Shell. These upgrades have managed to give it 240.5 horsepower!

It passes Euro 5 emissions tests with flying colors. The machine’s 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 engine reaches a high of 218 horses and revs to a whopping 16,500 rpm.

Ducati is using “gun-drilled” titanium rods to enhance its power. The internal lubrication channels and piston skirts are covered in diamond-like carbon surface treatment – just like the MotoGP and Formula 1 engines use. The gear ratios have been lengthened in the first few gears to become like what the World Superbike team has.

Most of the electronics are new and adapted from the 22/23-model Panigale V4. The rider will get four different “engine strategies” with engine maps and engine braking levels assignable for each gear.

The suspension is by Ohlins with an NPX25/30 pressurized fork that travels, 5 mm further than its predecessor and a TTX36 shock – both are non-electronic and mechanically adjustable for adept racers.

In short, the latest Panigale V4 R is an extremely fast, sexy motor bicycle in the superbike class. However, soon there will be a newer version launched that might make it look like a primitive model!
