This New Easy-To-Fly Personal eVTOL Will Set You Back $150,000

Mc Clic's Easy-To-Fly Personal eVTOL Will Set You Back $150,000

Monaco-based company Mc Clic is set to revolutionize the drone industry with its innovative Mc One personal electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Designed to be user-friendly and accessible, the Mc One promises a seamless piloting experience with minimal training required.

The Mc One eVTOL can be operated by anyone with just 10 minutes of training. After conducting extensive tests and accumulating significant flight hours, the company successfully completed a manned test flight of the Mc One in 2022. The positive outcome of these trials has already generated considerable interest, with Mc Clic already receiving orders for the aircraft. Deliveries are expected to commence next year, and each drone is priced at $150,000.

The eVTOL is assembled in Monaco, utilizing mostly locally sourced components. For instance, the pilot’s cockpit, made in Antibes, is constructed as a single piece. This simplifies the overall design and manufacturing process, ensuring a high level of quality control.

The Mc One is specifically designed for short-distance journeys, accommodating only one passenger positioned on top of the vehicle. Unlike traditional aircraft, it lacks a canopy, windshield, or cabin, enhancing the sensation of flying freely through the air at substantial speeds.

Weighing approximately 353 lb (160 kg), the eVTOL can carry a pilot weighing up to 198 lb (90 kg). A fully charged battery provides a flight time of 12-15 minutes, while the maximum angle for forward flight is 55 degrees, with a controlled top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h). The eight rotors, powered by electric motors, generate the necessary lift and thrust for the Mc One. However, the company has not disclosed detailed specifications regarding power output and battery capacity.

The Mc One features a vertical climb rate of up to 8 m/s and incorporates an automatic flight control system that minimizes the need for constant pilot input. Tasks such as maintaining balance, hovering in one position, and compensating for wind gusts are fully automated, similar to the capabilities of a drone’s flight system.

“For Mc Clic, flying simply and without constraint means discovering the world differently. This is what Mc One allows. Quickly, on board, you transform into an easy rider of modern times,” states a blog post from the company, emphasizing the liberating experience offered by their eVTOL.

In the highly competitive and rapidly evolving personal eVTOL market, the Mc One faces stiff competition from alternatives like the more affordable Jetson One. Nevertheless, increased competition will likely accelerate advancements within the sector, benefiting consumers and pushing the boundaries of aerial transportation.
