This New Display By Samsung Can Be Rolled Up Like A Scroll – And It Looks Absolutely Amazing

Samsung Display has recently made waves in the tech world with its latest innovation—a display that rolls up like a scroll. This groundbreaking development was unveiled by the company on Tuesday, showcasing their commitment to pushing the boundaries of display technology.

Called the Rollable Flex, this display stands at a compact 49mm in length when rolled up. However, with the use of an O-shaped axis, it can be vertically unrolled to extend up to an impressive 254.4mm. The versatility of this display is remarkable, as it can function as a monitor when fully extended and as a portable screen device, akin to a tablet or a laptop, when rolled up. Samsung Display plans to showcase the Rollable Flex, along with other cutting-edge displays, at the SID Display Week 2023 conference in Los Angeles Convention Center from May 23 to 25.

Another exciting display technology introduced by Samsung Display is the Sensor OLED display, specifically designed for portable devices. Unlike existing commercialized displays that have fingerprint sensors as separate modules attached under specific areas of the panel, Samsung Display has taken a different approach. They have embedded light sensing sensors throughout the entire screen. These sensors can read the OLED light reflected from the contraction and relaxation of blood vessels in the fingers when touched. This not only enables accurate fingerprint recognition anywhere on the screen but also allows for the extraction of valuable health information, including heart rate, blood pressure, and stress levels.

In addition to these groundbreaking displays, Samsung Display will also showcase other innovative products at the conference. One of them is the Flex Hybrid, a display that can be both folded and slid, providing users with flexible and customizable viewing options. Another notable display is the Flex In & Out, which can be folded inward and outward by a full 360 degrees, adding a new dimension to user interaction.

Last but not least, Samsung Display will exhibit its latest 77-inch model QD-OLED display, catering to the high-end TV market. This impressive display boasts a brightness level of 2,000 nits, promising an exceptional visual experience for consumers who demand the best.

The launch of these groundbreaking displays by Samsung Display highlights their dedication to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in display technology. As people anticipate the introduction of these new devices, it is evident that Samsung Display is at the forefront of crafting the future of visual experiences.
